Skull Showcase(From left to right) Owl, Snake, Horse, CowThis set started as a play on basic shadow boxes, similar to the work Joseph Cornell, using the ideas of found sculptures and “readymades”. As I developed my idea, I moved away from readymades and changed the project to creating the objects and boxes myself. The skulls are handmade in my own style; each is less influenced by traditional realistic interpretations and lands somewhere between surrealist and impressionist ideas. I looked into the Romantic art period as well as surrealists, like Salvador Dali, while creating the set.
